DAS Wins Excellence in Technology and Top Apple Award

by Jessica Lykon -

Dear DAS Families,

I am delighted to share some fantastic news that highlights our school's commitment to excellence in education and technology.

We are proud to announce that we have been recognized as a Top Apple school and have been awarded the Excellence in Technology award from the City of Dunedin. This recognition is awarded to schools that demonstrate an innovative approach to integrating technology within their educational programs. We will be recognized for these awards at the City of Dunedin Commission Meeting on Thursday, May 2nd.

Our school’s dedication to STEM education serves as the cornerstone of our teaching strategy, empowering our students to excel in an increasingly tech-dependent world. This accolade is not only a reflection of our status as an “A” school but also a testament to our comprehensive academic offerings and dynamic STEM-focused extracurricular activities.

We are so proud of our dedicated students and the tireless efforts of our teachers who have significantly contributed to our reputation as a leader in STEM education. It is their hard work and passion that have brought these honors to our school community. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our school’s commitment to excellence. We look forward to advancing our educational goals and ensuring all our children have a successful future.

Color Run Dress Code

by Jessica Lykon -

Good Morning DAS Families,

Tomorrow is our Color Run event for both campuses.  We have been getting some questions regarding what to wear for those participating.  This is not a big competitive race, so there is no need to dress in running attire.

  • Shorts must be past the fingertips  (no spandex or leggings).
  • Shirts must have sleeves covering the shoulders (No tank tops, straps or sleeveless shirts or short shirts exposing the midriff).
  • Lighter color shirts or white are better as they show the color.
  • Do not wear a shirt you really like. Even though it is not supposed to stain, there always is a possibility.
  • Tomorrow is a free dress down day, so students need to wear their color run clothing to school.  We do not have the ability to let students change up before or after the color run.

We look forward to tomorrow and thank you for your support!

Final Days to Support Our Color Run Fundraiser!

by Jessica Lykon -

Good Morning DAS Families,

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the families who have participated in our Color Run Fundraiser so far. Your contributions have been instrumental in raising funds for our school this year, and we're excited to announce that we're incredibly close to reaching our goal! If you haven't had the chance yet, you still have a couple days left to register and share your student's donation page with your family and friends. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our target and makes a significant difference.

We want to remind you that students are eligible to win prizes for all donations received by 5:00 PM tomorrow. If you have collected any cash or check donations, we kindly ask that you submit them to the school office as soon as possible.

To contribute or register, please visit www.MyBooster.com.

All students who donate $5 or more get to participate, and the more you contribute, the more extraordinary prizes you can win. As a reminder, our color run will be held this Friday, April 19th, in the afternoon. This Friday is a FREE dress down day for all students. We encourage those participating in the color run to wear white or light color shirts to better see the color!

Thank you once again for your incredible support!
