DAS Carline Reminders

by Jessica Lykon -

Dear DAS Families,

We hope your week is going well! As part of our effort to keep things running smoothly during pick-up and drop-off, please review the following carline reminders:

Dismissal: Check-In with Staff Member

All cars must check in with a staff member in line to ensure your student appears in PikMyKid, even if you have both elementary and middle school siblings or get stuck in the middle school line and need an elementary student. Please be sure to check in with the staff member in the back parking lot who is assigned to check in cars. This helps ensure that your child is outside and ready for pick-up by the time that you arrive to the front.

Pet Safety:

If you bring pets along for the ride, please make sure they are secured and kept away from the windows. While we love seeing your furry friends, this is to ensure the safety of everyone, including pets, students, and staff. It also helps avoid distractions for the students during the carline.

Club and Aftercare Pick-Up:

We understand that after-school pick-up can get congested on club days. To help with this:

  • Club pick-up is in the right lane only.
  • The left lane is reserved for aftercare starting at 3:40 PM.
  • If you are picking up from aftercare, please pull all the way up as far as you can before parking. Parking closer to the K-2 building when there is space to pull forward can cause delays and block staff members who need to exit.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in keeping carline efficient and safe for everyone!

DAS Weekly Update

by Jessica Lykon -
Good Afternoon and Happy Friday DAS Families!

We hope this message finds you well. We are not sending out a full newsletter today as we wanted to give our hardworking teachers time to get back on track after the recent unexpected closure. You should have received emails from your grade level administrators with academic updates. We do have some exciting upcoming events to share, and I have attached flyers with more details!

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s coming up:

Trunk or Treat – Friday, October 25th:
Join us for a spooktacular evening from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM at the school. We are still looking for families to sign up to decorate a trunk. You can sign up via this link. We will also be accepting donations of individually packaged candy next week in the front office.

Quarter 1 Report Cards  –  Friday, October 25th:
Report cards will be issued on October 25th and will be accessible first on DAS Connect, and then posted to Google Drive.

Parent-Teacher Conferences – Monday, October 28th, and Tuesday, October 29th:
There will be no clubs on these days. All elementary families should have heard from their teacher to schedule a conference. For middle school families, conferences are by invitation based on need. If you have any questions, please reach out to your grade level administrator.

Great American Teach-In – Wednesday, November 13th:
We invite family members to visit our classrooms to share their career, hobby, or expertise with our students on this special day. Interested in participating? Sign up through this link.

Picture Retakes Day – Friday, November 15th:
You can still order pictures online. Visit www.strawbridge.net and click "Order Pictures." Our code is FM447181.

We hope to see many of you at these exciting events! Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

Have a wonderful weekend!
