Set Up Your Focus Parent Portal Account

by Jessica Lykon -

Dear DAS Families,

We want to let you know that for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, all re-enrollment forms must be completed online through the Focus Parent Portal. This includes the following required forms:

  • Clinic Form
  • Student Pick-Up List
  • Healthcare Consent Form

While these forms will not be available in the portal until late July or early August, you can take steps now to ensure you're ready.

Please follow this link to get started: https://focus.pcsb.org/focus/auth/

You can use this site to create a new Focus Parent Portal account, add your child to an existing account, or reset your password.

Once your account is created, you will be prompted to verify your identity at your child’s school. Please stop by the front office with a valid photo ID or driver’s license so we can make a photocopy. After that, Ms. Dones will complete the verification process for you. If you believe that we already have a photocopy of your ID in your child’s records, please email us and we can check for it.

Note for 8th Grade Families: You do not need to complete this process for us. However, your child’s high school will most likely require this as well.

If you have any questions or need support, please contact our DMT, Ms. Dones, at jdones@discoveryacademy.info.

Thank you!

Morning Arrival Safety Reminder

by Jessica Lykon -

Dear DAS Families,

We want to remind everyone that parking on nearby streets and allowing students to walk onto campus is not permitted. This practice has been brought to our attention by multiple concerned parents, as it creates dangerous situations for both our students and drivers.

Only students who live within walking distance and walk from home should be arriving on foot. All other students must be dropped off through carline.

Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe arrival process for all.

We’re happy to share that our carline has improved greatly since the start of the school year! One way you can help keep things moving smoothly is by making sure your child is ready to exit the vehicle with their backpack and belongings when it's your turn.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
